Dental practice schedules reached new heights in March, ADA poll finds

Dental practice schedules in the U.S. were 88 percent full in March, the highest rate seen so far this year, according to a recent poll by the American Dental Association.

The data was featured in the ADA's monthly poll providing insight into the economic challenges facing dental practices during a specific week. The most recent data is from the ADA's poll for the week of March 14.

Dental practice schedules rose from 77 percent full in January and 83 percent in February. Patient cancellations were the most common reason behind unfilled schedules, the ADA said March 29. Other reasons include not enough patients making appointments, trouble filling vacant staff positions and COVID-19 safety protocols.
