New York dentist pleads guilty to attempting to forcibly touch patient

A New York dentist has pleaded guilty to one count of attempted forcible touching of a female patient, according to an May 2 news release from the Erie County District Attorney's Office. 

In October 2020, Tiberiu Sfintescu, DDS, 74, was charged with forcibly touching the intimate parts of a female patient during a May 2020 appointment.

As part of the plea deal, Mr. Sfintescu sold his dental practice in Tonawanda, N.Y., and voluntarily surrendered his license to practice dentistry in New York State.

He faces a maximum of 90 days in jail. His sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 1. He remains released on his own recognizance.
