Here are five dental professionals who are industry leaders across multiple dental associations.

Sharlee Burch, EdD. President of the American Dental Hygienists' Association. Dr. Burch has held various leadership positions at the Kentucky Dental Hygienists' Association including two terms as president. She is also an adjunct assistant professor in the department of clinical leadership and management at the University of Kentucky College of Health Sciences in Lexington.

David Chan, DMD. President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Chan is the owner of Ridgefield, Wash.-based Northwest Smile Designs. He is also the founder and president of the Northwest Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Cesar Sabates, DDS. President of the American Dental Association. In addition to his role at the ADA, Dr. Sabates has had his own practice in Coral Gables, Fla. since 1988. He was a president of the Florida Dental Association from June 2011 to June 2012.

James Sparks, DDS. President of the American Association of Dental Boards. Dr. Sparks served as president of the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry for eight years and on the American Association of Dental Boards board of directors for five years before becoming president. He has been practicing privately in Oklahoma City since 1986.

Karen West, DMD. President and CEO of the American Dental Education Academy. Dr. West served as the dean of the University of Nevada Las Vegas' School of Dental Medicine from 2007-2019. In July 2019, she stepped into her current role at the American Dental Education Academy.
