Harrogate, Tenn.-based Lincoln Memorial University is opening a dental school in Knoxville in September, WBIR, an NBC affiliate, reported Aug. 23.
The upcoming College of Dental Medicine, which will be the state's third dental school, will address a shortage of dental professionals in the state.
Classes begin Sept. 12 and there are currently 8 students signed up for the four-year program.
