From suppliers to technology companies, here is how five dental companies performed during the fourth quarter of 2022:

SmileDirectClub

SmileDirectClub's fourth quarter revenue was $87 million, a 19 percent drop from the third quarter and a 31.5 percent drop from the prior year period. Total 2022 revenue was $471 million, a 26.2 percent decrease compared to 2021. The company saw a net loss of $69 million in quarter four, an improvement of $26 million over the prior year period.

Dentsply Sirona

Dentsply Sirona's fourth-quarter sales amounted to $983 million, a 10.9 percent decrease from the fourth quarter of 2021. Dentsply Sirona brought in $3.9 billion in net sales in 2022, a 7.3 percent decrease compared to $4.2 billion for the full year of 2021. 

Henry Schein

Henry Schein reported $3.37 billion in net sales in 2022 and $12.6 billion for the full year of 2022. The company also repurchased $285 million worth of its common stock in the fourth quarter and recently approved the repurchase of an additional $400 million.

Envista

Envista's sales increased by 1.4 percent, reaching $660.8 million, compared to $651.8 million during the fourth quarter of 2021. Net income was $73.5 million, compared to $85.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Align Technology

Align Technology reported 2022 fourth quarter revenue of $901.5 million, down from $1.03 billion in the fourth quarter of 2021. Align Technology had $3.73 billion in total 2022 revenue, a decrease from $3.95 billion in 2021. Gross profit for 2022 was $2.63 billion, compared to $2.94 billion in 2021.
