A New York dentist recently launched the Asian American Dental Society.
Janet Youn, DDS, initiated the organization in May based on her experiences seeking connections and mentorship from Asian dentists, according to a July 6 news release.
The society's founders also include Mina Kim, DDS, president of the New York County Dental Society; Lewis Chen, DDS, co-founder and managing partner of a four-office dental practice in New York; and Vera Tang, DDS, vice president of the New York County Dental Society.
The founders plan on offering networking events, mentor matching, business coaching and outreach events. While the organization is based in the tri-state area, the founders also hope to expand into other states.
