Viome Life Sciences, a health technology company, launched a test that detects biomarkers associated with oral health conditions as well as oral and throat cancer.
The Oral Health Pro with CancerDetect uses artificial intelligence and proprietary RNA sequencing technology. It has a 95 percent specificity rate and a 90 percent sensitivity rate, making it the most advanced oral and throat cancer screening test available, according to a Sept. 28 news release.
In addition to detecting oral and throat cancer, the test also detects biomarkers associated with other oral health conditions, including poor gum health, cavities and fungal activity.
