Three recent updates:

1. The Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission suspended the license of David Dowling, DDS, an orthodontist in Mississippi. In September 2022, the commission charged Dr. Dowling with unprofessional conduct after he allegedly did not review radiographs, perform a physical exam or review another provider’s physical examination for orthodontic treatment via telehealth. In addition, he did not maintain proper clinical records.

The commission also suspended the license and moderate sedation permit of Thi Nguyen, DDS, for charges of not adequately assessing the patient’s level of risk and not providing enough medication to reverse the effects of sedatives used during a July 2022 procedure. The suspension of Dr. Nguyen’s license was lifted Nov. 29, according to state records

2. The D.C. Board of Dentistry revoked the license of Mark McClure, DDS, after a patient alleged he engaged in sexual misconduct, misrepresented himself, performed work outside the scope of his license and did not maintain an adequate record of his services.
