A GoFundMe set up on behalf of a Louisiana dentist who was stabbed inside her office in February has raised more than $105,000.
Sharon Stewart, 55, was arrested Feb. 7 on charges of stabbing Katie Tran, DDS, and attacking two others at a dental office in New Orleans.
Mason Liles, DDS, a friend and former classmate of Dr. Tran, set up the GoFundMe page after the incident to support Dr. Tran financially while she is out of work and to support her case against the suspect.
The GoFundMe's goal was to raise $100,000, but it has raised $105,383 from about 1,300 donations as of April 5.
