Dental school debt vs. average education debt in 2024

Dental school students graduated with an average of $280,700 in debt in 2023, according to data from the American Dental Education Association. 

The ADEA released its 2023 "Dentists of Tomorrow" report in October with information related to dental programs, students preparedness and debt. 

The organization noted that the percentage of survey respondents graduating with debt increased from 80% in 2018 to 84% in 2023.

Here is how the average amount of dental education debt has compared to the average amount of education debt between 2018 and 2023:
