Illinois dentist placed on probation for billing irregularities, false records

A dentist in Elgin, Ill., was placed on probation by the Illinois Board of Dentistry for billing, records and conduct violations.

The dental license of Santhi Yenna, DDS, was placed on probation with conditions for 18 months due to gross irregularities in billing, willfully making or filing false records, failure to establish and maintain records of patient care and treatment, and unprofessional conduct, according to a report from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. 

In addition to the probation, Dr. Yenna was fined $12,500 as part of the disciplinary action. 

The probation began May 1 and will end Sept. 30, 2025.
