Pennsylvania woman accused of stealing $35K from dental office

An employee was accused of stealing nearly $35,000 from a dental office in Gettysburg, Pa., CBS affiliate WHP reported July 18.

Brent Guise Family Dentistry contacted police in February for a reported theft from the business. An investigation found that Rebecca Chapman allegedly stole the money over “an extended period of time,” police said.

Ms. Chapman, 48, is charged with eight felony counts of forgery, one felony count of insurance fraud, one felony count of receiving stolen property, one felony count of theft by unlawful taking and one felony count of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds.

She is currently out on a $50,000 unsecured bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 24, ABC affiliate WHTM reported.
