6 industry updates for oral surgeons

1. Oral Surgery Partners added Hudson Oral Surgery, which has locations in Hackettstown, Roselle, Nutley and Denville, N.J., to its network.

2. Wendell Edgin, DDS, who served as president of several dental organizations and formerly served as a consultant to the U.S. surgeon general, retired after 42 years in practice.

3. The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia is the best college in the U.S. for oral and maxillofacial surgery, according to universities.com.

4. A Michigan man was awarded $2.75 million after a dentist botched an attempt to remove a mass from the patient’s lower jaw.
