7 dentists making headlines

The new dean of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City and six other dentists made headlines last week:

1. Alison Freeman, DMD, is leading Beyond Dental Health, a new dental brand formed by the merging of three Massachusetts practices.

2. Jason White, DDS, of Lubbock, Texas, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the production of child pornography.

3. Anthony Caramico, DMD, joined his New Jersey practice with Sarasota, Fla.-based DSO Dental Care Alliance.

4. Maxwell Finn, DDS, MD, stepped down from the U.S. Oral Surgery Management board of directors and was replaced by Vincent Perciaccante, DDS.

5. William Gardner, DDS, of Albuquerque, N.M., allegedly still is practicing despite his license being revoked in 2019.

6. Clark Stanford, DDS, PhD, will step down from his position as dean of the University of Illinois-Chicago College of Dentistry in April to join the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in Iowa City as its next dean.
