The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative was founded in 2015 by Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, to fund education, community and justice projects. The recent grant was a part of a $33 million funding initiative to support research into childhood diseases, according to an Aug. 27 news release.

Researchers, led by Kevin Byrd, DDS, PhD, will develop cell reference data using tissue from the nose, mouth and airways for the Human Cell Atlas, an international group dedicated to mapping every type of cell in the human body.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
