Arizona dental assistant pleads not guilty to sexual abuse of pediatric patients

An Arizona dental assistant pleaded not guilty to multiple charges of child sex crimes, AZFamily reported May 23.

Deion Garcia, 27, a dental assistant at Kidiatric Dental & Orthodontics in Chandler and Gilbert, Ariz., was charged earlier this month with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and five charges of molestation of a child.

He was accused of molesting three child victims during X-ray exams between 2022 and May 2024. Chandler, Ariz., police also said they found photos and additional evidence of the crimes on Mr. Garcia’s phone. 

A trial for this case is scheduled to begin Sept. 19, according to a May 23 news release from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
