DEA raids Colorado dental office over prescription drug fraud suspicions: 3 observations

Silverthorne, Colo., police and federal agents raided Comfort Dental in Silverthorne after receiving tips of possible prescription drug fraud, according to The Denver Post.

Here are three observations.

1. With the help of the Drug Enforcement Agency, police and agents seized hundreds of documents and interviewed several employees at Comfort Dental.

2. Police said they do not have a single suspect but do have a person of interest. They are investigating a visiting dentist from the Denver area and believe there is a fraud case.

3. Investigators believe it will take weeks to sort through information seized. The DEA will remain active in the case, reviewing “extensive documentation” from the dental practice.
