Seven notes:
1. Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 hurricane the night of Sept. 26, USA Today reported.
2. The hurricane had 140 mph winds and left millions of people without power.
3. More than 100 people have died across six states since the hurricane hit, CNN reported Sept. 30. Hundreds have been reported missing.
4. Several dental offices in the Southeast closed ahead of Hurricane Helene’s landfall, with some being able to open afterward and others unable to open due to damage from the storm.
5. Rockcliff Oral and Facial Surgery, which has five offices in North Carolina, posted on its Facebook page that all of its offices would be closed Sept. 30.
6. Tarpon Shores Dental Sarasota, which has several offices in Florida, temporarily closed its St. Armands office due to flooding, but noted that its Venice office would continue operations.
7. Several state dental organizations have posted resources online for dental practices to receive assistance.
