During an Aug. 22 public hearing, one dentist said that the board’s conduct was “predatory” and “secretive.”
A report from the Alabama Department of Examiners of Public Accounts found multiple instances of noncompliance from the dental board, including failure to properly document public meetings and issuing waivers for which it lacked the necessary authorization.
When questioned about the noncompliance, the executive director of the board said that the board members needed to be more diligent.
The Alabama Board of Dental Examiners did not immediately respond to Becker’s request for comment.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
