Dr. Bill Claytor Jr. earns ADA Distinguished Service award

The American Dental Association has given Bill Claytor Jr., DDS, its Distinguished Service Award.

Dr. Claytor is the executive director of North Carolina Caring Dental Professionals in Shelby, N.C., according to an Oct. 24 news release. The nonprofit assists dentists and hygienists struggling with substance use disorders, mental health issues, depression and burnout. He is also the co-founder of the National Council on Dentist Health Programs, which works with dental societies and licensing boards to create wellness resources for dental professionals.

The Distinguished Service Award is the ADA’s highest honor.
