Dr. Steven Eckert receives distinguished service award

The Academy of Osseointegration awarded Steven Eckert, DDS, with the Distinguished Service Award.

The recognition is awarded to individuals for their outstanding clinical, educational or scientific achievement for their contributions to implant dentistry. It is the highest award given out by the organization, according to a March 21 news release.

Before retiring in 2022, Dr. Eckert practiced dentistry for more than 40 years. He served as the prosthodontics program director at the Mayo Clinic and director of clinical research and development for ClearChoice Management Services later in his career.

Dr. Eckert is the first to receive the award from the Academy of Osseointegration, the release said.
