Georgia is allocating additional funding in its amended fiscal year 2026 budget to support oral healthcare in the state.

Three notes:

1. Included in the budget is $150,000 for the Georgia Mission of Mercy program, an outreach program led by the Georgia Dental Association that provides free dental care to underserved and uninsured adults.

2. The state is also providing $3.2 million to rural health clinics to help expand access to dental care.

3. The Georgia Dental Association worked with lawmakers to advocate for the funding, according to a March 4 news release.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
