The health system currently offers the treatment at 22 school-based health centers to children who have a moderate or high risk of dental decay. Now, Bassett’s dental and pediatric departments are collaborating to expand the treatments beyond the school program and bring them to pediatric and family medicine clinics across eight counties.

The health system has already begun offering the fluoride treatments at four other clinics, according to an April 23 news release.

Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated health system with five hospitals, more than two dozen community-based health centers and more than 20 school-based health centers.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
