Three notes:
1. The bill was introduced in the House of Representatives, and is backed by the ADA and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, according to a Feb. 11 news release.
2. The Consumer Healthcare Products Association said the bill would help reduce long-term medical costs for health conditions potentially caused by poor oral hygiene.
3. The bill is sponsored by Reps. Jeff Van Drew, DMD, Brad Schneider, Nicole Malliotakis and Jimmy Panetta.
