The bill permitted the Maryland Board of Public Works to gift at least $1 million per year in capital grants to community dental clinics. The dental clinics must be nonprofit organizations that provides services at reduced rates.
Dental clinics eligible for the grants must be wholly owned and operated under authority of a county, municipal corporation or nonprofit organization, the report notes.
The dental care bills will be effective Oct. 1.
