Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has sent the first round of refund checks to patients affected by the 2024 closure of Omega Dental Care in Eden Prairie.
Annelle Soberay, DDS, closed Omega Dental Care in 2024 due to a medical disability that impacted her ability to practice. Dr. Soberay filed for bankruptcy in April 2026, leaving patients without a way to recover fees they paid for dental services that were never provided. The practice allegedly did not provide advance notice of the closure to patients, did not arrange transitional care for existing patients and did not complete treatment plans despite accepting upfront fees.
A settlement was reached earlier this year for consumers to obtain refunds from the Consumer Protection Restitution Account in the Attorney General’s Office.
Eight checks totaling $38,634 have been issued so far, according to a Sept. 3 news release. The attorney general’s office is continuing to review additional claims.
