The Montana VA Health Care System has broken ground on its first standalone dental clinic in the state, according to an Oct. 21 report from KTVH.
The more than $8.2 million facility will be located in Helena, Mont., and expand the VA from four operatories to 12, including two specialty operatories designed for surgery and patients with disabilities or limited mobility, as well as 19 treatment rooms.
Services that will be provided at the 12,758-square-foot clinic include cleanings, fillings, extractions, root canals, gum treatments, dentures and oral cancer screenings.
There are 11,425 dental-eligible veterans in fiscal year 2026, up from 5,451 in fiscal year 2019, according to the Montana VA.
The facility is expected to be completed in fall 2027, the report said.
