The agreement creates a path between UNCP’s undergraduate population and ECU’s dental school, according to an Aug. 11 news release from East Carolina University.
Starting in the 2024 fall semester, one of the 52 seats in ECU’s dental school incoming class will be reserved three years in advance for students entering UNCP.
To be eligible for the program, students applying must be a North Carolina resident from one of nine specific counties. Once students accept early assurance into the dental school, they must maintain certain academic standards and participate in various activities.
The agreement is the ECU dental school’s first early assurance program with another institution, the release said.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
