The school will train 36 dental students each year, focusing on providing dental care to rural and underserved communities, according to an Oct. 25 joint news release from Delta Dental of Washington and the university.

Students will receive one year of on-campus training before spending the following three years in a federally qualified health center.

In addition to Delta Dental’s pledged $12 million, the university has secured $5 million in state funding, the release said.

The university broke ground on the school earlier in October with plans to open to students in fall 2025.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
