Investors who purchased SmileDirectClub common stock during the company's initial public offering in September have filed a class-action lawsuit claiming SmileDirectClub made false and misleading statements, according to an Oct. 2 news release.

Anniston, Ala.-based Sarrell Dental is notifying 391,472 patients that their information may have been exposed in a ransomware attack.

CareStack, a startup that develops software for dentists, announced Oct. 2 that it raised $28 million in a second round of funding, according to Livemint, a financial newsource based in India.
