Richard Plasch, DDS, retired from a 50-year dentistry career two years ago.
“He touched a lot of people with his compassion,” Greg Plasch told KTVU, noting that his father delivered free dental services for some.
On March 9, Dr. Plasch was heading to the post office to mail a letter around 6 a.m. It’s unclear what happened, but Dr. Plasch was found lying in the road and rushed to a trauma center. He had injuries consistent with being hit by a car, such as broken ribs, a fractured shoulder and brain trauma. The incident occurred in an area with no cameras, though area surveillance did capture two cars of interest.
Dr. Plasch leaves behind a widow, two sons and three grandchildren. He’s described as an avid skier, loved to fish, and not only made people smile, but helped with their smile.
