Police arrived at Johnston Dental Offices after the shooter had left the practice. Officers said the shot was fired from someone in a car driving past the practice.
The patient refused all medical treatment and was able to leave the practice. Detectives are working to identify the vehicle and suspect.
Johnson Dental Offices closed its practice for the rest of the day after the incident. In a statement on Facebook, the dental practice said all staff were safe at that the practice would reopen July 25.
