States disciplining dentists: 5 updates

Five states have recently disciplined dentists for violations related to patient care, infection control and more.

Five updates:

1. The Alaska Supreme Court upheld the state’s decision to revoke the license of a dentist who extracted a tooth while riding a hoverboard.

2. The Washington Dental Quality Assurance Commission indefinitely suspended the license of Sandy Montano, DDS. Dr. Montano violated multiple sanitation and infection control requirements in November 2021.

3.  A judge sided with the decision of the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners to revoke the license of a dentist with an “extensive disciplinary history.”

4. William Do, DDS, a dentist in Tracy, Calif., had his license revoked following infection control violations.

5. The Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners revoked the license of Thomas Endicott, DDS, following a multiyear investigation.
