Texas man arrested for practicing dentistry without a license

A man from Hidalgo, Texas, was arrested on suspicion of practicing dentistry without a license or permit, according to a March 5 report from myRGV.com.

Gerardo Casas, 50, was charged with three counts of dentistry act violations for allegedly performing tooth removals and measuring for dentures on three individuals. 

Two of the patients claimed they paid Mr. Casas $1,800 for the extractions and dentures. One patient had 10 teeth removed but never received her dentures. 

Mr. Casas was released on $67,500 in bonds, the report said.
