The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry relaunched its clinic designed to provide dental care to senior adults.
The clinic was open from 2010 to 2020 until it was closed during COVID-19. Dental equipment and chairs were donated to help with the reopening, according to an April 23 news release from the university.
Services offered at the clinic include routine cleanings to more complex prosthetic care.
Michelle Seidenfaden, DMD, an assistant professor in the UAB Department of Clinical & Community Sciences, will advise, supervise and lead the coordination of care, the release said.
At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
