A clinic operated by the University of Colorado Anschutz College of Nursing has received a $2 million grant to expand dental services for young patients with neurodevelopmental disorders.

The funding will allow the clinic, Sheridan Health Services, to expand its dental staff, offer nitrous oxide and provide training for the clinic’s providers, according to an Oct. 1 news release from the University of Colorado.

The clinic will develop resources to help children with neurodevelopmental disorders — including those with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and intellectual disabilities — access dental services.

The grant was provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration, the release said.
