1. Forty-eight U.S. dental schools were ranked among the best in the world by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy.
2. The University of Rochester (N.Y.) plans to open a new dental school next year.
3. A burst pipe flooded the University of Louisville (Ky.) School of Dentistry’s Preston Street clinic, forcing the closure of the facility temporarily.
4. Delta Dental of Missouri launched a pilot program with two Missouri dental schools to boost dental care access for uninsured and underinsured individuals.
5. A group of dental schools received nearly $2 million from the NIH to co-lead a national training center exploring whether pulpotomies could be performed more routinely in general dental practices as an alternative to root canals.
