Dr. Lai had his license suspended in December after he violated the terms and conditions of a modified order by missing fine payments, according to a Jan. 18 news release from the Washington State Department of Health.

In October 2022, the commission and Dr. Lai modified a 2020 agreed order. The order stated that Dr. Lai must pay a $3,000 fine and $10,000 in expenses, and Dr. Lai would pay $300 each month until the fine and expenses were paid back.
