Private equity firms and their portfolio companies were involved in 11 out of the 23 dental acquisitions in 2021’s fourth quarter. According to a Jan. 13 press release from healthcare data resource LevinPro HC, similar trends were seen in the third quarter of 2021. This indicates the trend toward private equity involvement in dental “isn’t just a fad,” according to LevinPro HC.

This month has already seen its share of involvement from the private equity market. Texas-based Smile Doctors received an investment from private equity firm Thomas H. Lee Partners, and dental insights company P&R Dental Strategies was acquired by an affiliate of Beekman Investment Partners IV.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place November 12–14 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
