Aspen exec given President's Award from American Association of Public Health Dentistry

Julie Frantsve-Hawley, PhD, executive director of the Aspen Group's Oral Care Center for Excellence, was recently given the Presidential Award from the American Association of Public Health Dentistry.

Dr. Frantsve-Hawley was nominated for the award by AAPHD immediate past president E. Angeles Martinez Mier, DDS, PhD, for her impact on the dental industry.

Dr. Frantsve-Hawley was appointed head of the Chicago-based oral care center earlier this year. The center will provide care to an estimated 2,500 underserved Illinois residents when it opens this summer.

Before joining the Aspen Group, Dr. Frantsve-Hawley was director of analytics and evaluation for nonprofit CareQuest Institute for Oral Health. She was also the executive director of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry from 2014-17. She has been a member of the association since 2017 and serves as an associate member liaison on its board of directors. She also serves on its council on scientific information, which develops resources and guidelines to promote the science of public health and updates the association's code of ethics and research agenda.

The Aspen Group supports more than 1,100 locations in 45 states through its four healthcare support companies, which include Chicago-based DSO Aspen Dental and ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers.
