Meet eight of the company's leaders:
Rick Workman, DMD. Founder and Executive Chairman: Dr. Workman founded Heartland Dental in 1997. He serves on the board of advisors for The Workman School of Dental Medicine at High Point (N.C.) University. A gift from his family's foundation, the Rick and Angie Workman Foundation, supported the opening of the dental school.
Patrick Bauer. President and CEO: Mr. Bauer has been president of Heartland Dental since 2009, and before becoming CEO in 2015, he served as COO since 1997. He has more than 25 years of experience in dental and healthcare operations management.
Travis Franklin. Executive Vice President and CFO: Mr. Franklin joined Heartland Dental in 2004. He served in several other roles with the DSO before being appointed CFO in 2016. Before joining Heartland Dental, he was chief investment officer at WMG Development, a commercial real estate company.
DeAnn McClain. Executive Vice President and COO: Ms. McClain joined Heartland Dental in 1997 as an accountant and served in several roles with the company before being appointed COO and executive vice president in 2020.
Mark Greenstein. Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer: Mr. Greenstein joined the DSO in 2015 as executive vice president of strategy and development and was appointed chief growth officer in 2019. He also serves as a board member for P3 Veterinary Partners, a 50-office veterinary partnership group in Canada.
Stacy DeWalt. Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer: Ms. DeWalt joined Heartland Dental in 2021 and has more than 25 years of leadership experience working at public and private companies in the financial services, gaming, education and technology industries. Before joining Heartland, she served as the chief revenue officer for OneMain Financial.
Craig Kabbes. Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer: Craig Kabbes joined the DSO in 2014 and has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry. He previously served as vice president of application development and customer technology for Patterson Companies.
Kirsty Leyland. Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer: Ms. Leyland joined Heartland Dental in 2022 and has more than 20 years of experience working in human resources. Before joining Heartland, she served in leadership positions for ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers, Walmart and Kellogg.
