Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened a practice in Perry, Ga., as part of its mission to increase access to care in underserved communities.
The office, which opened July 9, is led by Managing Clinical Director Godlive Athis, DDS. The practice offers a variety of services and is equipped with technology to allow restorative procedures to be completed in fewer visits, according to a news release from the DSO.
The opening comes as Aspen Dental aims to expand its network in underserved areas. Perry is one of the fastest-growing communities in the state, seeing an 11.5% increase in its population since 2020. Georgia also faces a large shortage of dental providers, with 21 of the state’s 159 counties having no practicing dentist in 2025. Additionally, 39.3% of adults in the state had not visited a dentist in the past year as of 2020, the most recent year available, according to CDC data.
Earlier this month, Aspen Dental launched a five-year commitment to deliver up to $100 million in donated dental care and community service through its Healthy Mouth Movement.
The organization supports nearly 1,100 offices in the U.S.
