The DSO experienced a data security incident in February 2023, compromising patient data for more than 500 individuals.

According to court documents, Great Expressions will establish a $2.7 million non-reversionary cash settlement fund.

The settlement applies to all U.S. residents who received notices from the DSO about the data breach. The benefits available to settlement class members depend on whether their Social Security numbers were potentially accessed or acquired during the incident, according to Kroll Settlement Administration’s website.

A final fairness hearing is scheduled for Dec. 12.

At the Becker's 5th Annual Future of Dentistry Roundtable, taking place September 14-15 in Chicago, dental leaders and executives will gain insights into emerging technologies, practice growth strategies and the evolving landscape of dental care delivery, with a focus on innovation, patient experience and operational excellence.
