North American Dental develops outbreak protocol for dentists

Pittsburgh, Pa.-based North American Dental Group has developed an “essential treatment only” model, along with infection control procedures, for dental practices to use amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

North American Dental Group, in partnership with the Professional Dental Alliance and its Dental Advisory Board, developed a list of essential and non-essential treatments, along with updated infection control guidelines.

Information regarding infection control includes standard operating procedures for monitoring the temperatures of staff and patients, a risk survey for screening patients, procedure for front desk sign-ins, enhanced cleaning protocol, what to do if a team member or patient is infected with COVID-19, and procedures for closing a practice.
