Great Neck, N.Y.-based The Smilist added two practices in Massachusetts to its network, the DSO's first expansion into the state.

Here are six  DSOs and dental groups adding practices in the Northeast that Becker's has reported on since Sept. 11:

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Imagen Dental Partners added a dental practice in Jay, Okla., to its network.

DSOs are being faced with the task of fighting notoriety as certain practices are scrutinized in the field. 

DSOs have begun to place more emphasis on doctor satisfaction as competition in the industry heats up and providers become more selective and critical of DSOs. 

Irving, Texas-based U.S. Oral Surgery Management recently added three partner practices in California, Alabama and Tennessee. 

Chicago-based Aspen Dental opened a practice location in a newly constructed retail plaza in Mansfield, Conn., according to an Oct. 4 report by The Daily Campus.

Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health has had a busy few weeks consisting of practice openings, awards and more.

The Pacific Dental Services Foundation recently awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships to 17 dental assisting students. 

Nashville, Tenn.-based Tend recently opened a practice location in New York City, according to an Oct. 3 report by Lic Post.
