Dallas-based Smile Doctors has acquired myOrthos, an orthodontic support organization with more than 70 practice locations across 13 states, according to a March 20 news release from Smile Doctors.

Here are five things to know:

  1. With the acquisition of myOrthos, Smile Doctors has expanded its network to more than 550 affiliated locations.
  2. The company also entered four new states: Delaware, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont, bringing its presence to 36 states in total.
  3. The expansion reinforces Smile Doctors’ mergers and acquisitions strategy, as the OSO continues to grow its network each quarter, according to the release.
  4. Patients at myOrthos’ practices will receive the same care from their orthodontists, without disruption of ongoing treatment, the release said.
  5. Smile Doctors is the largest orthodontic support organization in the U.S.
