Irving, Texas-based Specialized Dental Partners has grown its network over the years to include more than 275 offices and more than 450 doctors in 36 states.
Here is how the company has evolved since 2023:
1. The DSO added more than 20 offices and 80 doctors to its network in 2025.
2. Specialized Dental Partners enhanced its integrated care models across its network to streamline care and reduce delays for patients.
3. Specialized Dental Partners has added Coupa’s artificial intelligence-driven spend management platform to its network.
4. Scotte Hudsmith, the chair and CEO of Specialized Dental Partners, was elected president of the Association of Dental Support Organizations.
2024
1. Specialized Dental Partners was listed as the most acquisitive private equity-backed DSO since 2021, according to PitchBook’s “Healthcare Services Report” for the fourth quarter of 2024.
2. The DSO added more than a dozen practices in Texas, Arizona, Massachusetts, Illinois, Colorado, Ohio, Mississippi, California, Utah, South Carolina, Minnesota and Florida.
2023
1. SDP added Columbus (Ohio) Endo to its network.
2. The DSO partnered with Periodontology, which has offices in Columbus and Grove City, Ohio, and Geerlings Endodontics in Newman, Ga.
3. Specialized Dental Partners added Cobb Corner Endodontics in Canton, Mass.
4. The company added two endodontics practices in California and Colorado.
5. The organization added Endo of Illinois.
6. The DSO partnered with Falk Perio CWF Periodontics & Implants in San Antonio; Garden City (N.Y.) Endo; and OMP Endodontics in Tucson, Ariz.
7. Specialized Dental Partners partnered with endodontics practices in North Carolina, Colorado, Washington, California and South Carolina.
8. The company partnered with West Shore OMS in Norton Shores, Mich.; Endodontic Associates in Slidell, La.; Pacific NW Endo in Bellevue, Wash.; Oral & Facial Surgery Center in Joplin, Mo.; Johnson Endo in Hartland, Mich.; South Bend (Ind.) Endodontics; Modern Care Endodontics in Apple Valley, Minn.; and Johnson & Jaynes Perio in Plano, Texas.
9. Fife & Steffen Endodontics affiliated with the DSO in June.
10. The DSO added Spradley Endo in Cypress, Texas.
11. The company added Perry Endodontics in Rogers, Ark.; Advanced Endodontics in Mesa, Ariz.; Politis Periodontics in River Forest, Ill.; and Northland Endodontics in Blaine, Minn.
12. Specialized Dental Partners added Colorado Root Canal Specialists; Advanced Endodontics of Chicago; 3D Endodontics in Renton, Wash.; SJS Endodontics in Fond du Lac, Wis.; Microsurgical Endodontics in Santa Barbara, Calif.; O’Neal Endo in Topeka, Kan.; and Bay Area Endo in Bay City, Mich.
13. In February, the company announced several leadership appointments: Steve Frost, DDS, as chief clinical affiliations officer; Vladana Babcic Tal, DMD, as chief clinical officer; James Twellman as chief development officer; and Connie Wright as chief human resources officer.
