The 5 states where DSOs grew the most in October

From the openings of new de novo locations to partnerships with existing partnerships, the DSO industry continued to make moves in October. 

These five states saw at least two DSO moves in October, as reported by Becker’s, including practice openings, acquisitions and affiliations.

Note: This list is not exhaustive.

California

• Henderson, Nev.-based PDS Health opened Westminster (Calif.) Modern Dentistry.
• Dallas-based MB2 Dental added Boulton Orthodontics, led by Bart Boulton, DDS, in California.
• Chicago-based Aspen Dental has continued its 2026 growth by opening a new location in Merced, Calif.

Florida

• PDS Health opened Dentists on Bonita Beach (Fla.).
• Boynton Beach, Fla.-based EKOS Dental Group launched its 20th practice with the opening of Modern Dentists of Deltona Lakes.
• Dental Associates of Florida, a practice supported by Sarasota, Fla.-based Dental Care Alliance, opened a new location in Lakeland, Fla.

Illinois

• Phoenix-based SALT Dental Partners entered Illinois.
• Scottsbluff, Neb.-based EPIC4 Specialty Partners added Pediatric Smiles of Bloomington in Illinois.

North Carolina

• Miami-based Guardian Dentistry Partners added FreshDental in Hickory, N.C., to its network.
• Aspen Dental opened a new location in Whiteville, N.C.

Tennessee

• PDS Health opened Ross Farms Dentistry in Clarksville, Tenn.
• Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental closed its transaction with Alpharetta, Ga.-based Foundation Dental Partners, which supports practices across four states including Tennessee.
