Effingham, Ill.-based Heartland Dental has focused this year on enhancing resources for dentists, advancing its educational initiatives and making strategic acquisitions.
The DSO currently supports more than 1,800 practices in the U.S.
Here are 11 key moves from the organization this year:
1. Heartland Dental expanded its network by more than 50 practices during the first half of the year.
2. Heartland Dental most recently launched the Orahh Care Dental Community to share resources, best practices and enhanced visibility with participating practices.
3. In October, Heartland Dental filed a permit to renovate a former credit union building in Jacksonville, Fla.
4. Heartland Dental affiliated with Siena Hills Family Dental, led by Khanh Nguyen, DDS, in Las Vegas.
5. In September, Heartland Dental acquired Smile Design Dentistry, a DSO with 60 offices in Florida.
6. Heartland Dental was included in Newsweek’s ranking of America’s Greatest Workplaces in Health Care for 2025.
7. Heartland Dental and Leixir Dental Laboratory Group agreed to a four-year extension of their strategic partnership.
8. Heartland Dental and Concorde Career Colleges broke ground on their first co-branded dental training campus in Fort Myers, Fla.
9. Chris Tampio was named vice president of government affairs at Heartland Dental.
10. The DSO appointed Sherianne James as its chief marketing officer.
11. Heartland Dental launched “Masters and Mentors,” a new campaign to reinforce the DSO’s commitment to its support model and culture.
