United Concordia Dental has named Edward Shellard, DMD, as its next president.
Dr. Shellard supersedes the dental insurance company's former president and CEO Timothy Constantine, who will retire at the end of 2022, the company said April 28.
He was most recently the chief dental officer for dental software company Carestream Dental, where he oversaw advanced research, regulatory affairs, quality assurance and environmental health, and safety efforts. He has also served as president and CEO of medical device company Dental Technologies Inc.
Dr. Shellard operated a dental practice from 1987-1994 in Rochester, N.Y. He was also an adjunct professor at the Loma Linda (Calif.) University School of Dentistry from 1996-2002. He was also president of the dental materials group of the American Association for Dental Research.
